Alex Easton MLA was deeply angered at the dumping that has occurred at Orlock.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I have been left flabbergasted at the amount of dumping that has occurred at the car park area at Orlock. This dumping is deeply unwelcomed by the local community and is an act of unwanted dumping which is polluting the local community, and an act of environmental vandalism, especially as the area is a fantastic area for wildlife and visitors to use the costal path.”

“This act of dumping is an act of sheer laziness, which has seen someone who couldn’t make the effort to take it to the correct site. It means that the Council will have to investigate who dumped the rubbish, and it also means that tax payer’s money will have to be used to remove the rubbish...

Alex Easton MLA has today expressed plans by Translink to look at moving or removing all together the bus stop at Main Street, Conlig for a second time as madness.

ALEX EASTON MLA EXPRESSES ALARM AT PLAY PARK SAFETY ISSUE AT THE COTTON.

It has been brought to the attention of Alex Easton MLA through Janice MacArthur of a serious health and safety risk at the Cotton play park.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“It has been brought to my attention by Janice MacArthur about the safety of children using the Play Park at the Cotton. The play park is situated alongside a busy road and the fencing that has been placed round the park does not protect the entire play park or children using the facility with a large gap that could alow a child to run out onto a busy Main road. I am today calling on council to ensure that the entire play park is safely enclosed and that no gaps are left. This is vital for the safety of our children.”

ALEX EASTON MLA CONDEMS REMOVAL OF STREET LIGHTING AT CYPRESS.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This decision by TNI street lighting division to removing lighting from the rear alleyways in the Cypress Park area of Donaghadee is both dangerous and a serious error of judgement. Mostly pensioners who cannot see out the back now to use the alleyway if needed at night occupy this area. It also makes it dangerous for the pensioners as they can no longer see where they are walking and especially in the winter could slip and fall. It has also been highlighted that the alleyways will now become hot spots for anti-social behaviour. I am urging TNI Street Lighting Division to rethink their strategy and think what is needed for the residents not trying to save money”
