Alex Easton MLA is deeply upset at the closure of the local shop in Kilcooley.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am deeply upset for the owner and staff and in deed the residents of Kilcooley who are to see their local shop closing down. Having spoken to the owner it appears that the repeated robberies and break-ins have taken a toll on this local business and forced it to close.”

“This is a deeply regrettable decision and will leave the local community without a local shop. I would say to those who have robbed the shop over the years that by their actions, they have ripped the heart out of the local community and how they can sleep in their beds knowing they have destroyed people’s livelihoods and taken away this essential service to the community they should be ashamed of themselves.”
