Alex Easton MLA is delighted that North Down Borough Council have been able to extend the 12th of July banners to Abbey Street.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said;
“Last year I did a successful Notice of Motion to Council to celebrate the Queens Diamond Jubilee and to celebrate the twelfth of July with a proposal to erect Banners in Hamilton Road which was highly successful”
“This was the first time that these sorts of banners had been used to promote the Protestant and British culture in a positive way. This partnership approach involved the Council and Orange Order working positively together and demonstrates what can be achieved by working together as a partnership. I am pleased that this success will now include Abbey Street as well as Hamilton Road and will add to the prospect of a positive 12th of July demonstration that will be held in Bangor this year.”
