Alex Easton MLA has hit out at the reckless individuals that have seen a second Bonfire being burnt down this time in the Clandeyboye area.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This is now the second such incident with the Rathgill Bonfire being burnt down and now the Clandeyboye Bonfire being bunt down. The message needs to be got across that by taking these reckless actions someone is going to get hurt or killed. The individuals involved need to wise up quickly, they are literally playing with fire. I have been in contact with the PSNI over the issue as this is causing unnecessary tensions in the local community. I would appeal to anyone with information within the local community to pass this onto the PSNI before someone gets killed. I would also encourage anyone with any spare wood to help rebuild the Clandeyboye Bonfire in a safe manor, so that everyone can celebrate their Protestant culture on the 11th night.
