Alex Easton MLA has condemned an arson attack at Bangor Hospital.
Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:
“It would appear from the information I have heard that some reckless idiot set fire to a bin at the rear of Bangor Hospital near to the Oxygen Room wee oxygen tanks are stored. If this fire had spread it would have blown up the oxygen tanks and probably destroyed Bangor Hospital. What sort of reckless individual would risk starting a fire on Thursday evening knowing it had the potential to destroy a community hospital which treats thousands of patients at the Outpatients Department and Bangor minor injury unit every year! This is not to mention all the valuable equipment that would be lost and the knock-on effect to appointments right across the SE trust. I would appeal to the individual involved to have a bit of sense and grow up, your actions will lead you to being caught by the PSNI and you will end up in court and then prison.”
