Alex Easton MLA has expressed deep concerns over a series of shop thefts in Bangor last week.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“I am deeply concerned that local businesses in Main Street, Bangor are being targeted by thieves, it has come to my attention that Menaries and Shoe Zone have recently been targeted by thieves who have stolen stock and money from staff.”

“Those responsible for stealing leave behind a trail of devastation that not only involves the stealing of stock and money, but also leaves staff feeing shaken and upset and has a lasting effect on staff morale. I would appeal to the public to be on the lookout when out shopping, and if they see anything suspicious to report it to the staff of a shop or indeed call the PSNI. It is not fair especially for shop owners in these economically hard times to be targeted but it is not fair to the those that work in the shops giving us the excellent customer service. More needs done to protect staff and to catch those responsible!”
