Alex Easton MLA today claims the Loughview Bonfire at Holywood a great success.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“Despite all the doom and gloom that was prophesized by some that there would be anti-social behaviour and that people’s property would be damaged and that the agreement reached would not be kept have all proven to be wrong. Having spoken with the PSNI there were no incidents reported at the Loughview Bonfire with 70 people turning up to watch.”

“Not only did those involved in building the Bonfire keep their word that everything would be marshalled, they even took the initiative to move the Bonfire into the middle of the football pitch after the Council put the Bonfire cage in the wrong location. The Bonfire was lit at eleven o’clock and everyone was away by 12 midnight.”

“I would praise all those involved in the building of the Bonfire for their efforts, and I would say to those who spread doom and gloom that you were wrong from day one and the results on the night quite clearly showed they got it wrong!”
