Alex Easton MLA has today called on the Housing Executive to maintain their steps after coming across badly maintained steps in Kilcooley Estate.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“Having been on a walk about in Kilcooley, along with my colleague Councillor Wesley Irvine, we came across steps at Balligan which were badly maintained with a stone block having fallen of the steps wall. Not only is this a tripping hazard it could have fallen and injured a local resident in the area.”

“I am today questioning how often these steps are checked by the Housing Executive in Kilcooley to ensure their safety for residents, and why grass is allowed to grow across some of the step surface ways and for parts of walls to fall down. It is important that there are scheduled inspections and that this set of steps is fixed as soon as possible.”
