Alex Easton MLA has asked the Council to look at the amount of green disposable food waste bags that they are supplying residents.

Speaking to day Alex Easton MLA said:

”It is clear that the amounts of Green food waste bags that are being supplied to residents are just not enough for some families. I am inundated with residents who need to use more than one bag a week due to large families, which is causing problems with smells and maggots. It is highly important that we recycle food waste, and the Council are doing the correct thing by doing this, however the Council need to review their policy on the amount of Green food waste bags they supply and increase the number to those that need more than one a week due to large families. I will write to Council on the issue and ask them to review their policy and increase the amount of free food waste bags to those residents that need them.”
