Alex Easton MLA has been left shocked by the state of steps coming down Ballyholme Esplanade to the walking way at Ballyholme Beach.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA.

“Having been out for a walk I came across these steps going up to Ballyholme Esplanade from the pathway at Ballyholme Beach, and was astounded at the state of the steps. There were large areas have come away from underneath the sides of the steps that in my opinion are undermining the foundations of the steps and making them unsafe.”

“As elected representative, even though I am not an expert even I can see this has the potential to be very dangerous in deed, and I would be calling on North Down Borough Council to take urgent action to assess the steps with a view to repairing and making them safe. I am at a loss as to why this has not been picked up by inspections by the Council and intends to raise this at Council in the very near future.”
