Alex Easton MLA and his colleague Councillor Wesley Irvine have today called for action to address dumping on waste land in Rathgill.

Speaking today Alex Easton MLA said:

“This is a disgrace that the waste land at the side of the Church of the Nazarene is continually being used as a dumping ground, I am today with my colleague calling for action by North Down Borough Council to do more to combat the problem. It is necessary for more No Litter Signs to be erected in the area but also for more patrols by the environmental officers to try and catch those responsible, I would also call on the local residents to report any vans dumping material so that we can put a stop to this. It is unfair to the local residents that this practice is going on especially beside a local Church and also especially as there are no excuses as the local Civic Amenity site is only half a mile down the road.”
